7 Years of Christmases

Hello Everyone! and Merry Christmas! So I’m currently writing this on Christmas Eve night and depending on how many wines I’ve had when I’ve finished it may be published tonight or on Christmas Day. So I thought that I would have a go at a Christmas Tag but with a twist and get my lovely partner Michael to answer the questions with me. We’ve been together for 7 years and this will be our 3rd Christmas in our home. We both love Christmas and can’t wait to wake up tomorrow (or today depending on when this is published. . . its the wine sorry) and spend time with family.

So onto the questions. . . 

Question One : Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

Lizzie: We usually have a tradition were we open one of our presents off each other but we didn’t last year because we didn’t have any.

Michael: Most of the time, but we didn’t last year.

Question Two : What Christmas traditions are you most looking forward to this year?

Lizzie: I’m looking forward to seeing you (Michael) open your presents, but I also love Christmas dinner… and it being socially acceptable to eat chocolate till I feel sick.

Michael: Opening the presents and seeing what you (Lizzie) have got me, and seeing your face when you see the presents I’ve got you.

Question Three : Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

Lizzie: Fake, but its a new tree we bought this year and it’s very realistic. I couldn’t be bothered with the clean up afterwards with a real tree.

Michael: Fake but it looks real, I’ve never had a real one to be honest.

Question Four : What is your favourite Christmas film?

Lizzie: It’s so hard to choose! I’d have to say either Elf or The Grinch, but again I don’t know if I could choose.

Michael: Hmm, Well technically its not a film, but it would have to be the Bill Murray Christmas special that’s on Netflix. It’s funny and I like Bill Murray.

Question Five : Where do you usually spend your Christmas?

Michael: Either at My Mum and Dads or Lizzies Mum and Dads because we alternate each year.

Lizzie:  Yeah we stay at ours on Christmas eve then drive to either of our parents houses. Both only live a 20 minute walk away so we usually leave the car there and walk home later (drunk).

Question Six : What is your favourite Christmas song?

Lizzie: Mine has to be Fairytale of New York, I just love at the end of Christmas Day when everyone’s had a bit to drink and were all singing it together.

Michael: Little Drummer Boy with David Bowie and Bing Crosby because my Dad used to play it a lot when I was little so it reminds me of Christmas.

Question Seven : What is your favourite seasonal treat?

Lizzie: Pigs in Blankets definitely and again eating ridiculous amounts of chocolate.

Michael: Erm . . . Mince pies

Question Eight : What is your all time favourite thing about Christmas?

Lizzie: Spending time with family and no get ups. I pretty much hibernate in this time off.

Michael: Being off work, I used to work through all of Christmas so having the time off is a real blessing.

Question Nine : If you could spend Christmas anywhere in the world where would you go?

Lizzie: Hamburg, I’ve been to Germany a few times but I’ve never been to Hamburg and I’ve heard its lovely over Christmas.

Michael: Canada because its somewhere I’ve always wanted to go and it seems like it would be nice at Christmas.

Question Ten : Do you have a New Years Resolution? Will you stick to it?

Lizzie: I am going to rejoin at my local slimming world. I’ve still been going but I want to rejoin so that I get a fresh book and a fresh start. I’ve got a fitbit for Christmas off my Mum so hopefully that will motivate me.

Michael: I haven’t thought  of one yet to be honest. But I don’t normally do them because I know I won’t stick to them.
