Anniversary Weekend Away.

Hello everyone!

I hope you are well. Today I am bringing you a review of a fantastic Hotel that Michael and I were lucky enough to stay in last weekend. Now this post is in no way sponsored, we had such an amazing time, I wanted to share how lovely it was. Michael and I spent 2 nights in the StayCity Hotel in York. It cost us £301 which for a place like York I think was very reasonable.

The Room

The hotel room was an apartment with a kitchen/dining/living room, bathroom and bedroom. It was a large spacious apartment with one double bed but also enough fold out space for two more people. The bathroom was impeccably clean and the shower was amazing. The kitchen itself had a fridge, cooker and sink as well as (to our surprise) a washing machine and dish washer. For us that was brilliant as we want to make our own breakfast in the morning and one of the nights we made tea for ourselves.

The Location

The hotel was a 20/25 minute walk from the train station which isn’t to far at all (you pass a few pubs on the way). It is also 15 minutes from the town centre. The walk to the centre it quite picturesque if you choose to walk near the castle. Directly underneath the hotel is a co-op that stays open till 11pm on most nights. This was great for us to fill up the fridge with snacks and drinks for when we got back on a night. All in all location wise you couldn’t ask for much more.

The Service

A couple of days before we were due to arrive, I received a lovely email confirming our room and what time we would be arriving as well as asking if their was anything extra we would like for a special occasion. I replied stating that it was our anniversary but just getting away was lovely enough for us. So after a long travel and arriving at the hotel pretty late we were humbled by a lovely anniversary card that had been signed by the staff in the hotel (it was such a lovely gesture!).

Staff were welcoming, pleasant and seemed to be happy to help in anyway they could. The also had a food and drink desk that was open 24 hours a day so when we got back from drinking on the Saturday night it was great to be able to order a pizza and some beers to take back to our apartment with us.

Overall

All in all we had an fantastic time away for our anniversary and StayCity in York were certainly a huge part of this. I am so pleased we booked our weekend here and I would happily book with them again. Knowing that Stay City have hotels in other Cities, I will definitely look out for them when booking other trips in the future.

So I would just like to thank Stay City for making our anniversary very special, and I just want to say again and make very clear this post is in no way sponsored we just had such an amazing time I wanted to share it with you guys.

Do you have any places that you’ve stayed at recently? Have you ever stayed at a Stay City hotel? Let me know!
