Hello Lovelies,
Can you believe its December already. My Sunday post is coming a little late today as I have been busy putting the tree up and relaxing after a difficult week. In stressful times its easy to forget to make time for yourself and reminding yourself to focus on the good. So I thought I would bring you some of the things I try to think about or do when I feel like I’ve got the weight of the world on my shoulders.
I HAVE A ROOF OVER MY HEAD
Michael and I bought our house a good few years ago now. We’ve had our ups and downs with it and its certainly not perfect but its ours. It really is our cosy little home and there is nothing I love more that coming home popping the heating on with our Pj’s and watching the American Office re-runs, … and for that we are blessed.
I HAVE FOOD IN MY CUPBOARDS
This year as part of our Christmas celebrations at school I have decided to do a reverse advent calendar with my class. This is when on each day of advent a child will bring in an item of food, On the last day of school I will then take this to the local food bank to help others in need in our area. It’s important to me to teach the children that giving is just as important as receiving. (find out more about food banks here)
I HAVE A JOB THAT I LOVE
Now I know sometimes I may moan about how much work I have to do, or that its been a stressful week. But in all honesty I have one of the most rewarding jobs. Seeing the smiles on those little kids faces everyday makes teaching totally worth while. They amaze me, inspire me and bring me to both laughter and tears but I wouldn’t change it for the world.
I HAVE SOME AMAZING FAMILY AND FRIENDS
When life can seem tough its easy to close yourself off from the world but I try to remind myself of the wonderful family and friends that are there to support me. From my kick ass work friends to my besties that I’ve known for years I know if I needed them they would be there and that is definitely something that I can be thankful for.
MICHAEL
We have been together nearly ten years now and I honestly don’t know what I would do without him. He has seen me at my best and my worst and I love the fact that he knows how to make smile when no one else can.
