Hello lovelies I hope that you are well,
It’s been a while but I’ve been really focusing on myself and work at the moment and I always have said if I didn’t feel like writing a post I wouldn’t force myself. So today I am bringing you a post of what I wore for world book day this week!
In case you didn’t know world book day is a fabulous day in which children and adults celebrate the love of reading and books by dressing up as there favourite character. They are a charity in which their mission is to give every child a book of their own.
So in the past I’ve been Merry Poppins, Thing One, Bellatrix LeStrange but this year I decided to use my special novel that Michael bought me of ‘My Neighbour Totoro’ and went to school as the cuddly caring creature that he is! One of the things you have to thinking about when dressing us and working in a school is practicality. The costume was pretty easy to whip together with a couple of different items.
Firstly I used an old cream t-shirt and cut his belly shape out, I then sewed it onto a simple grey dress. My Totoro hood was kindly borrowed from my friend but they are easy to buy on Amazon or Ebay.
Some of the children knew who I was but It was nice for me to be able to tell them about the story and the character. I’m looking forward to next year and seeing what else I can try and create!
What was your favourite story as a child?
I’ve never heard of this but you look fab!
