Hey Lovelies, I hope you are well,
Today is the first day with my new Foundation Stage 2 class! We have had two training days where Sarah my amazing TA and I have been prepping the classroom but today is the day. I’ve already met my class on nursery visits and taster days but today they are officially mine! I have obviously pre-written this so I am hoping that today is going to go really well. (wish us luck)
So today I thought I would bring a teacher / job related post with a recent project that I did over the summer holidays. I was having a gander on the Facebook Market place looking for wooden toys, (typical EYFS teacher) I really prefer wooden toys in my classroom, they last longer and look better too. I like toys to have a weight to them.
BEFORE
So this amazing wooden shop appeared and they were asking for £30 for the shop, wicker baskets, metal baskets, shop keeper outfit and all the wooden food in the picture. At such a good asking price I couldn’t resist and decided to buy it. I have other wooden role play furniture items that I have painted because I like them to look more realistic and some children can struggle with the brightness of primary colours.
So I bought a large tub of the blue paint from B&Q for £12.00, the white is some emulsion that I already had in the shed. I than wanted to have the top look like a normal kitchen worktop so bought the stone look spray for £4.00 from Aldi. I am so pleased with how it has turned out and think it looks fresher, more modern and I am sure the kids are going to love it.

So what do you think? Do you enjoy little projects? Let me know!
