Hello Lovelies,
It has been a while but in the midst of a pandemic nothing has particularly been normal has it really. I have taken a break from doing much of anything in all honesty because work has been crazy as I am sure you can imagine. I have a sneaking suspicion that it isn’t going to settle down after the new year either!
Today I thought I would share with you some of the things that I enjoy doing each year. Its a hard time for a lot of us now and I feel like its the little moments of joy and normality that we are all clinging onto.
Wrapping Presents
Some see it as a chore but I love wrapping gifts. Every year I go and buy new ribbons, bows and paper and taking that time to make them look lovely its a real pleasure. The Christmas tree never looks right until its got presents underneath. Luckily the Kittens haven been bothered about them under the tree, although wrapping them with them nearby was an entirely different story.

Decorating the House
Its safe to say we decorated our house pretty early this year (granted not as early as some) We had to adapt this year with the addition of kittens so some of our glass baubles that we put up each year we have had to keep away so the girls don’t knock them off the tree. And we definitely haven’t put the Christmas Village up as that would end up looking like a poor Godzilla remake. We have our special baubles that we get out each year which always bring a smile to my face every time we get them out.

Spending Time with Michael
Having a longer amount of time off with Michael is a real privilege over the Holidays. Michaels old job meant he was working through Christmas with maybe one or two days off. So now that he’s off we really cherish the time we have together. Granted it’s not the same as usual this year as we are predominantly at home it is still something that I look forward to.

Going for Christmas Walks
One thing I love to do at this time of year is evening walks. Making a hot chocolate in a flask and taking a stroll to see how everyone has decorated their houses. There is something really calming and reassuring about it. This photo below is one from last year when we went for a weekend away to Whitby ( I know right? remember when we used to do things like that)

It has been really lovely writing this post and I hope you enjoy reading it. If times are tough for you right now please feel free to drop me a message if you need someone to talk to. It can be really hard to stay positive at the minute so just know that you are doing your best!
