Hey everyone and happy Halloween! Today I am spending the day with the lovely Beccarr (her YouTube channel) and I thought I would bring you some of my top picks on Netflix to watch tonight if you are in a horror mood.
Now anyone that knows me will know that I am a huge horror fan and have been for a very long time. My horror collection is pretty extensive in movies and books. Now I’m not saying that makes me an expert by any means but I still thought I’d share with you some of my favourites.
If you like Classics . . .
Bram Stokers Dracula I was so surprised when I found that Netflix had added this amazing film. Gary Oldman does a fantastic job of playing the role of Dracula and if you haven’t seen it you definitely should. It was nominated for Baftas and Academy awards and it deserved every nomination!
If you like Sci-Fi Films . . .
Cloverfield Is a pretty old Sci-Fi film but still an amazing one none the less. There was so much mystery about this film when it was released and it didn’t disappoint when it was released. I will say would also fit under the shaky cam genre so if it there the types of films that give you a headache then it might not be for you.
If you like Crime Films . . .
Prisoners isn’t necessarily a ‘Horror’ but it certainly is an intense watch. It is staring Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal. The plot is about two families in Pennsylvania whos young daughter get abducted. Jake Gyllenhaal plays the detective trying to find them and Hugh Jackman is the father who decides to take matters into his own hands. It’s honestly a fantastic story and a great watch if you love crime stories and films.
If you like Supernatural Horrors . . .
Ouija Origins of Evil Now if you have read the reviews of the first Ouija film (it’s not worth watching) however this prequal is honestly a pretty good watch. I’m not a massive fan of supernatural horrors to be honest but this one has some clever twists to it that do make it an interesting watch.
If you like Thrillers . . .
Gerald’s Game is a film based on a book by Stephen King and is a game changer in terms of expectations. I am not someone who gets particularly scared with horror films however this on honestly gave me some serious chills. It is very well crafted and definitely worth a watch.
So here are 5 possible films you could watch tonight if you are in the mood for a scare. What are your favourite horror films? Do you have any recommendations?
Let me know!
