Hello lovelies, I hope you are well.
We are on the last day of week 3 since Lockdown and schools closing and I wish it seem like the end is in sight but it really doesn’t feel like that to be honest. Its such a shame but there are still people not following government guidelines and its so frustrating. I asked a man not (politely) to keep his distance in the shop the other day and he barged past me then once I had left the store and she saw me explain to Michael what had happened. The man then preceded to cough loudly in my direction. Such vile and disgusting behaviour and its guys like this is why my class will be out of school for longer.
Anyway I’ve had my rant now onto something more positive. Today I thought I would share with you some of the things that have been keeping my spirits up in this difficult time we are all facing.
I have been using the recommended hour exercise and ensuring that I am getting fresh air. I have always been a strong believer that walking is good for the mind, body and soul anyway so this is something I value.
STAYING IN TOUCH
As I mentioned in last weeks post I have been missing my class like crazy. So it has been really nice to be able to ring parents and see how they are getting on. It makes me feel like I’m not so far away if that makes sense. And I have had the opportunity to talk to some of the children on the phone too which was fabulous.
I have always loved to sit and doodle or colour in to pass the time. It is something that I find very therapeutic. I love starting a page and then feeling the satisfaction when it is completed. At the moment I am working through my Bob’s Burgers and Rick and Morty colouring books.
EATING … LOTS
I really aren’t going to get too upset about this one as I have always know that I have an emotional attachment to food and basically for the time being it is what it is. Boredom eating is something I think most of us can relate too and as the weeks are moving on I am hoping to find other things to do instead of eating. . . but till then pass me the ice-cream.
Some days Michael and I have spent sat on the sofa not really doing anything, just watching tv, chilling and playing the occasional five hours of Sims. And I am completely okay with this. We shouldn’t be putting pressure on ourselves to make sure we are making the most of this time. I am still working so for me if I want to spend a day doing nothing I will do.
LEARNING A NEW LANGUAGE
I am attempting at the minutes to learn Polish. In my school we have a high percentage of the children that are polish and I really want to try and at least learn some basics for when they first start school. Once I have learnt the basics I may then try Romanian too! If you are wanting to learn a new language Duolingo is a fab app for it.
RECORDING STORY TIMES
Since we have been off I have been recording story times on to post onto twitter for my class to watch. Our class story times are something that I really miss so I have been enjoying reading and recording these. One of the parents told me their son has been watching them with his little sister every day and that really made me smile.
You may have noticed if you follow me on instagram; a slight channge in my feed. I have updated the edit style of my photos and the order in which I am posting. I am really loving the photos I am taking recently and I think actually have that to focus some of my time on has been really beneficial to me. On that note here is a recent outfit that I wore to work this week. (photos taken at school not out and about)
